Jubilee Park

The Friends of Jubilee Park (FOJP) were created as a result of the Woodhall Spa Parish Council Parish Plan (WSPC) in 2005. Along with other concerned residents we created the Friends to safeguard and enhance the future of Jubilee Park.
The Friends have liaised closely with ELDC and secured £1.54 million to refurbish the pool and its attendant facilities. While it was our hope to see this money invested in its entirety we now have to acknowledge that this is not likely. Changed economic circumstances and priorities within ELDC have meant that a new approach is now necessary.
ELDC are currently reviewing how leisure facilities across the district will be delivered. This review is timely as both FOJP and WSPC see the future interests of Jubilee Park being best secured by operating as a local community trust.
WSPC have now established a Steering Group to progress this idea. This group is made up of interested residents, community representatives and members of the FOJP. Initial meetings with the ELDC have been very productive and work continues. A website giving progress to date will soon be available to view at...

As your District Councillor I will be working closely with the Steering Group and ELDC to progress this project. As a former chairman of the FOJP I know the importance of Jubilee Park to residents and businesses alike.
FOJP now has a new Chairman.... Kim Barr is now heading FOJP and will aim to continue with the role of the Friends in raising the profile of Jubilee Park. "We are all disappointed that the £1.5 million will not fully be released to our project but we do recognise that a community run trust is the way to go. It has always been a long term goal of the Friends that such a community trust should run the Park. It is potentially great news."
